Are you an experienced Director of Studies looking for a challenging summer job?

St Andrew’s College Summer Schools Ltd has been providing high quality English language courses for 20 years to young people from all around the world.

You will be directly responsible to the Managing Director and Director of Operations for the smooth educational management of our NEW Edinburgh centre, and to St Andrew’s College Summer Schools Academic Director for the quality of educational delivery. There will be two additional senior teachers appointed to assist you in the management, organisation and implementation of our high quality English language courses.

As one of the Senior Members of staff you share the responsibility for the pastoral care of our students during class time. St Andrew’s College Summer Schools will provide your accommodation and full board free of charge.


Requirements
Applicants must hold a Degree PLUS a DELTA, Dip TESOL or equivalent.

You will also require a minimum of 2 years experience
Experience of leading/ assisting in leading a team of teachers.
Ability to lead and inspire fellow teachers
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Flexibility
Experience of dealing with continuous enrolment
Experience of administering placement testing

Main duties / responsibilities
Ensure high quality delivery of the academic programme
Organise and manage the academic time table and course planning
Organise and manage testing, placement and student induction
Manage appropriate use of materials and resources
Support and guide teachers through lesson observations, feedback and workshops
Maintain staffing levels in liaison with Director of Operations and Managing director.
Teach when required to meet operational demands
Provide weekly Group Leader and staff workshops/feedback sessions
Oversee and maintain educational administration
Manage student questionnaire analysis
Maintain recommended staffing levels
Deal with student and Group Leader enquiries on classes and levels
Establish a positive working environment with the teaching staff
Ensure high levels of student safety and welfare are maintained in classes.
