Fees
Hi I am thinking about a career change and looking at TEFL courses. I would like to do private teaching in the UK part time and wondered what people would charge potential students? thanks Tracy

Hi,
Noticed this question, would have to say anything from £0 to £20 but I think it can obviously depend where you live and what other provision there is in the area.Have you tried the www.teflscotland.co.uk forum pages and askd there?

How do you rate my chances.....
Hi....
I have been looking to enrol for a CELTA course in Sydney. I have a bachelors and a master’s degree in Business with 9 years of sales and marketing experience. Although I have studied English for 17 yrs ….I am not a native speaker…in terms of acquiring
local ascent (Even though I have lived in this country over 10 yrs). I called a couple of English schools in Eastern Europe especially Poland. The feed back was very disappointing even though I have a good command over this language and have studied this language for so many year (Grammar for 8 years in school, 5 yrs of creative writing).I have a strong feeling that I might be discriminated of not being a native speaker as I am looking for am employment opportunity towards eastern Europe. Your feedback will be deeply appreciated, as this shall help me to make my decision towards doing this course or not.

Cheers
Amit

Hi
I think TEFL mama has missed the point - to teach live online you can look on www.tefl.com for jobs. I've seen a couple of companies advertise there.

Hi Katrina,

There is a lot of competition for jobs n the UK. For TEFL try the local colleges - even if they don't have current positions they quite often will hold your CV or they sometimes have 'banks of teahers' that they use to run their courses with.
There are a few private Language schools - try the SATEFL website - if yiu register with them you have access to their job shop. Also there will be summer jobs available if that's any use.
Good Luck.
